I’ve got a book or two to share with the girls for Valentine’s Day, but I thought I’d go ahead and make a list of all the Valentine’s Day book reviews I’ve shared here so there’s time for library runs and book orders before the big day.
- Arthur’s Valentine by Marc Brown
- The Ballad of Valentine by Alison Jackson (This is my favorite story, plus the pictures are by Tricia Tusa. If you pick only one, get this one!)
- The Best Valentine in the World by Marjorie Weinman Sharmat
- Love Is. . . by Wendy Anderson Halperin (She is one of my favorite illustrators!)
- My Heart Is Like a Zoo by Michael Hall (It would be fun to pair this one with Annette’s owl valentine!)
- Ruby Valentine Saves the Day by Laurie Friedman
- Saint Valentine by Robert Sabuda
- The Story of Valentine’s Day by Clyde Robert Bulla
- The Valentine Bears by Eve Bunting
- The Valentine Party by Pamela Bianco
Sherry of Semicolon has a list of 100 ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day , in case you’re in need of some inspiration.

Thanks for the suggestions! I am looking for books to share North American Valentine culture with my kids because it is very different in Japan. I especially like to look of The Valentine Bears.
I have two Valentine’s Day book reviews from earlier this week.

I love the Ballad of Valentine!! Do you sing it??
Thanks for the other recommendations….I just got out our Valentine stash yesterday.
Mary, is there any other way to read it?!?!
Pathetic, I know, but I don’t typically do much for the big love day. However, yesterday (M didn’t have preschool) we made a love/heart craft based on a Bible verse.
I’m glad you like the owl! Thanks for the link!
Thanks for these! I don’t typically do a lot for Valentine’s but I’m always up for some new books.
I ♥ the video of My Heart Is Like a Zoo! We just got the book and are going to attempt a couple of crafts from it.
